| Welcome to my website, I’m Geraldine McCaughrean and I write books for young people of all ages, whether they be from four to eighty-four. By the way, for those of you who are puzzled by my surname, it is pronounced 'Muh-cork-run', said quickly! I hope you enjoy browsing through these pages. There is something here for all generations, for those who like stories from times gone-by, stories from around the world, myths and legends, retellings of the classics, adventure, or tales of the unusual.You can visit China, Madagascar, Antarctica, China, India, Brazil and America. Arabia, Spain, Egypt, France and Neverland. You can track down Greek myths for a school project or read a younger version of The Canterbury Tales or A Pilgrim's Progress to introduce you to the original book later on.Many stories have been translated, and I have listed all the countries in which you can find at least one of my books. I haven't listed those available in the British Commonwealth because many books published in the United Kingdom are exported to those countries You can listen to extracts from some of my books, to give you a flavour of what to expect or buy them as audio books if you prefer listening to reading. And of course, more and more are becoming available as e-Books. I have recounted some of the things I have been up to, those I am up to in the future, with a picture or two to help to get the story across.There are a couple of video links too! When I visit schools I am asked all kinds of questions, so I have listed a few of them (with responses) for those of you who may be interested, but I may never meet. So, whether you are looking for books to read yourself, doing some research or looking for a book for a brother, sister, parent, relation or friend, why not step inside, take a wander, and browse through the bookshelves to discover a plot that you find intriguing.
