Welcome!  Thank you for visiting. I’m Geraldine McCaughrean - pronounced 'Muh-cork-run' - and I write books for young people of all ages. I hope you will find something here whether you are after historical adventure,  picture books,  stories from around the world, myths and legends, retellings, adventure, adult fiction or fairy tales. My novels alone will take you to China, Madagascar, Antarctica,  India, Brazil and America, Arabia, Spain, Egypt, France, Australia and Neverland.   Many have been translated, so I’ve listed all the countries where at least one of my books is available. You can even listen to a few audio extracts. And as I write, more and more are becoming available as e-Books. I’ve answered a few of the questions I often get asked on school visits – just in case I don’t get round to visiting every school in the country.  So, whether you’re after an escape from the here-and-now, a present, or something for school,  step inside, take a wander, browse the bookshelves.    I’ve written 165 books, so there should be something there for the pickiest reader.  And of course  I wrote all this stuff for you, you know.  Expressly for you. Huge thanks to Atrium Webs for building this site, making it work and keeping it up to date. I can thoroughly recommend them to anyone in search of a Website Designer.
