Think Again!
Illustrated by BEE WILLEY
When Maker first made the animals, he made a few mistakes. Everyone
makes mistakes. First Squirrel was as big as a bull. She took
melons, pumpkins and coconuts and stripped the fields quite bare.

Peter Pan In Scarlet
Illustrated by DAVID WYATT
"The sequel turned out quite old in age
appeal - which was in keeping with J M Barrie's book. But many
people think of Peter
Pan as a favourite of little children. So with those children
in mind OUP and Great Ormond Street Hospital asked me to shorten
my
story and take out the scarier, darker elements; they asked David
to illustrate it in full colour. But I don't think anyone was
expecting the fabulous pictures he came up with. It has given
a whole new
dimension to Neverland. Even if you already own the older version,
even if you are at the older end of the reading spectrum, do
take a look inside the new 'big red book' just to appreciate
a master-craftsman
at work."

The
official sequel to Peter Pan needs to be an exceptional book,
and that’s
exactly what we have in Peter Pan in Scarlet ….. books
such as this are as rare as fairy dust … what McCaughrean
has done is nothing short of miraculous. It’s enough
to make you believe in fairies.

I loved Peter Pan in
Scarlet by Geraldine McCaughrean, I can’t think of
another who paints so vividly with words. She is an incredible
writer.
